On 10/12/2025, West Essex members volunteered at the Essex County Parks Boat Pavilion from 9:45 am to 10:45 am for the event “Volunteering Onebook Reading Club” (The address is 163 S Livingston Ave, Livingston, NJ 07039 ). We continued reading The One and Only Ivan, while learning how to find important quotes, understand the meaning of foreign words, and write concise but impact full summaries.

On 10/19/2025, West Essex AYLUS member Allison Zhou volunteered at the Livingston Public Library from 2-3 pm for “Volunteering Onebook Reading Club” (the address is 10 Robert H Harp Dr, Livingston, NJ 07039). We continued reading The One and Only Ivan and discussed student-picked vocabulary terms, sentence building, and quote selection for theme identification.
