AYLUS Syosset Volunteers at the Eisenhower Park Walk to End Alzheimer’s Event 10/4/25

On Sunday, October 4th, AYLUS Syosset made a return to the annual walk to end Alzheimer’s event held at Eisenhower park. As Syosset AYLUS adds more meaningful annual events to our roster, we are proud to return back to this special event. Alzheimer’s disease is a disorder that affects the cognitive ability of patients. Individuals that have this disease suffer from memory loss, disorientation, and ultimately difficulty with daily activities. This event is an opportunity for our community to gather together, not only to recognize the difficulties of those who have this disease, but also to fundraise for research to find a cure. AYLUS volunteers arrived at 7:45 in the morning to start setting up the different booths and stations. We started off with the promise garden by assembling and planting all the flowers—each color represents a different relationship between the visitor and a patient—for all to admire and take pictures with. Then, we took care of the champions tent where different teams could receive an award based on the amount of money they raised. When the walk started, volunteers helped with taking down the different booths and cleaning up. Right as everyone neared the finish line, we cheered on everyone for a job well done!
