On Tuesday, October 14th, 2025, from 6:00 to 7:00 PM, three AYLUS volunteers — Emma Ding, Summer Lu, and Brian Zhang — helped five students with schoolwork at the Great Neck Station Library. They covered any questions or problems that were brought to their attention so that they could support everyone to the best of their ability.
Emma helped an elementary student and an eighth with both English and math, making sure that they understood all of the material. Summer worked with two boys, where she checked their homework and helped a 7th grader with science involving limewater reactions. Similarly, Brian aided a 7th grader with his social studies project, creating a brochure and helping him draw illustrations on paper. Overall, the session was very productive and the students, with the help of the volunteers, were able to complete or progress through their work.
