On October 5th, the AYLUS Great Neck branch participated in the ninth Great Neck Park District Farmers Market. Volunteers arrived at 9:30 to set up tables and prepare for the day. The event started at 10:00 am and ended at 2:00 pm with work being split into 2 shifts of 2 hours each. For both the shifts our volunteers ran tables with custom fan-making, face painting, and promoting our handmade products such as our crocheted plushies, keychains, handmade bags, bracelets, tapestry and more. This event we also introduced making balloon animals that turned out to grab lots of attention from children and was a success. We encountered no issues throughout the Farmers Market successfully raised around – – . All profits will be donated to Adventures in Learning, an organization that helps provide underprivileged students tutoring based out of JFK. We look forward to continuing the Farmers Market and will keep looking for improvements on where we can do better.
