AYLUS Basking Ridge volunteered at Feeding Hands on 10/4/25

AYLUS Basking Ridge members began a new program with Feeding Hands Food Shelter in Liberty Corner, spending the morning helping families and individuals navigate the shelter with care and attention. Volunteers gently explained food limits for each item and offered the prayer room to those who wanted it, moving carts aside to make the space easier to navigate. They handed out backpacks to children, shared corn and cable extenders, and carefully tracked what was distributed. Many volunteers also helped load groceries into cars, chatting with shoppers along the way, and returned carts to the entrance to keep everything running smoothly.

What made the morning truly special were the human connections. Volunteers and shoppers exchanged smiles, stories, and laughter, creating an atmosphere of warmth and support. Families left feeling seen, cared for, and a little lighter, while volunteers walked away with a deep sense of fulfillment, knowing they had made a meaningful difference. Small gestures—like a helping hand with a cart or a friendly conversation—brought comfort, joy, and a sense of community, reminding everyone that acts of kindness, no matter how simple, can leave a lasting impact.
