On 9/21/2025 and 9/28/2025, West Essex members volunteered at the Essex County Parks Boat Pavilion from 9:30 am to 11:30 am for the event “Volunteering Onebook Reading Club” (The address is 9 Cherry Ln, West Orange, NJ 07052 ). We began reading The One and Only Ivan and discussed how to identify themes, characterization through narration and character interactions, and using text evidence to support predictions, a skill that will further be developed as they progess through the club and will need for their acdemic career. We did this outside creating a positive environment to learn.
