AYLUS Roslyn Hosts Book Drive for NYU Langone (1st) on September 30, 2025

From September 28 to 30, a dedicated group of volunteers orchestrated a heartwarming book donation drive aimed at supporting patients at NYU Langone Medical Center. AYLUS volunteers rallied the local community, encouraging neighbors, friends, and fellow students to contribute gently used or new books to brighten the days of patients.

In total, the initiative gathered more than a hundred books ranging from uplifting novels and classic literature to engaging children’s stories and educational materials. Each book was carefully sorted and prepared for delivery, ensuring that there would be something suitable for a variety of patients and age groups at the hospital.

By the end of the collection period, the donated books were ready to be transported to NYU Langone, where they would soon find new homes in the hands of patients looking for a comforting escape. This initiative not only provided knowledge but also gave AYLUS Roslyn members a deep sense of fulfillment, knowing that even a simple book could offer patients comfort, distraction, and a reminder that they are not alone.
