On Saturday, 9/20/2025, members of the Newtown AYLUS Branch volunteered at the Bucks County Free Library – Levittown Branch from 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM. The Levittown Branch continues to be a cornerstone of the community, offering access to books, resources, and programs that support education and personal growth for people of all ages. During this volunteer session, members assisted with organizing the library’s book collection.
Volunteers carefully reshelved recently returned books and conducted shelf reading to confirm that materials were in proper order. This ensured that visitors could locate the titles they needed with ease, promoting smoother access to information and encouraging more consistent use of the library’s offerings. Families, students, and lifelong readers alike benefited from the improved organization, which created a more welcoming and efficient environment for exploration and learning.
Their support also lightened the workload of library staff, allowing them to focus more on programming and direct assistance to patrons. By helping behind the scenes, the volunteers contributed to maintaining the library as a reliable and inviting space for the entire community.
Members who participated were David Soong (event leader, 2 hrs) and Edward Soong (2 hrs).
