The Bernards Chinese Association held its annual Mid-Autumn Festival celebration at Ross Farm (135 N Maple Ave, Basking Ridge, NJ 07920) on September 28, 2025. As in previous years, AYLUS Basking Ridge members were there from the start, helping bring the festival to life. Volunteers set up the DJ tent, decorated the grounds, and assisted with rehearsals, making sure everything was ready for a day full of joy and celebration. Throughout the festival, they helped families at the reception desk, guided children through arts and crafts, twisted balloons into fun shapes, and offered a friendly hand wherever it was needed. The air was filled with music, laughter, and the excited chatter of families enjoying performances, games, and cultural displays. At the end of the day, volunteers pitched in to clean up, pack supplies, and load them onto the DJ’s truck, ensuring the event wrapped up smoothly.
Beyond the practical help, volunteers brought heart and energy to the celebration. They shared smiles, cheered on children as they tried new activities, and reassured families navigating the event for the first time. Children’s eyes lit up at their balloon animals, parents laughed along with performances, and seniors enjoyed the music knowing someone was there to support them. The volunteers’ presence made everyone feel welcome, cared for, and part of the community. By the end of the day, it was clear that their efforts had done more than just run an event—they had created lasting memories, strengthened connections, and made the festival a truly warm and joyful experience for everyone involved.
