Reported by Eric Huang #Hometown Sammamish Youth Action Group – Community Cleanup
Project (Event#4)
This May, we launched the Community Cleanup Project under the Hometown Sammamish Youth Action Group. As part of this initiative, we will organize a series of cleanup events in city parks, lakes, public spaces, and communities that need attention. We believe this project will contribute to reducing pollution, protecting wildlife, preserving the natural beauty of our surroundings, and fostering a greater sense of environmental responsibility.
On September 17, 2025, the AYLUS Lake Washington Branch organized its fourth community cleanup event in the Renaissance Ridge and surrounding neighborhoods of Sammamish. From 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM, branch members Eric Huang and Jerry Yang walked through the neighborhoods, park, and trail—collecting two full bags of garbage, sorting recyclables, and properly disposing of waste.
Renaissance Ridge and nearby communities are densely populated, with many families enjoying walking and cycling throughout the area. We hope this cleanup event helps create a more pleasant and welcoming environment for everyone in the neighborhood. Together, we strive to make our hometown a cleaner, more vibrant, and beautiful place for all.
Branch members who participated in this event:
Eric Huang: 1.5 hrs
Jerry Yang: 1.5 hrs
Advisor on duty: Christine Liu
Location: Renaissance Ridge and surrounding neighborhoods of Sammamish
