AYLUS Roslyn Helps The Cerebral Palsy Association of Nassau County at The Bayville Care Center (23rd) on September 21st, 2025

On Sunday September 21, 2025, from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM, AYLUS Roslyn members volunteered at CP Nassau’s Bayville center.

We started the day off by saying good morning to all the residents. They were all so happy to see us and we could say the same about them! Our first activity of the day was connect 4. The Bayville center has a bunch of items that we always use and the giant connect 4 is one of them. The residents love it when we play connect 4 with them. We played against the residents and some of the volunteers were helping the residents try to win. We also aided each resident by guiding their hand to the correct spot if they were unable to.

The second activity of the day was bowling. We set up a small bowling alley and we brought the residents to the spot and they pushed the ball down a slope. Since we have played this so many times, each of the residents are already really good at it! They each enjoyed playing it and some even did it 3 times. After we bowled, the residents were getting a little tired. We decided to take them outside to soak up the sunshine and take a little break. This was the first time we had been outside with them so it will be a memory to remember.

Our final activity of the day was playing games on the Wii. The residents really enjoy playing jeopardy on the Wii so we decided to bring it out. We helped them choose the correct response and we ended up winning a lot of money (only in the game). After we finished jeopardy we realized that we still had some time left so we asked if they wanted to try a different game. They wanted to play Wii sports so we helped them guide their hands when playing it. We all had so much fun with the residents and we hope to be back soon!
