On Saturday, 9/13/2025, members of the Newtown AYLUS Branch volunteered at the Bucks County Free Library – Levittown Branch from 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM. The Levittown Branch plays a vital role in the community by giving residents access to reading materials, educational opportunities, and public spaces that encourage exploration and lifelong learning. For this session, volunteers concentrated on maintaining the organization of the library’s book collection.
The volunteers dedicated their efforts to returning books to the proper shelves and carefully checking the order of titles to keep everything in its correct place. Their work ensured that the library’s resources remained easy to find, saving patrons time and frustration while also encouraging them to explore new areas of interest. From young children discovering stories for the first time to adults seeking research materials, visitors benefited from a tidier and more reliable browsing experience.
In addition, this assistance supported the library staff by reducing their workload, giving them more time to engage directly with patrons and support ongoing programs. The effort highlighted how even routine tasks, like organizing books, contribute to a smoother daily operation and a more inviting atmosphere for the community as a whole.
Members who participated were David Soong (event leader, 2 hrs) and Edward Soong (2 hrs).
