On September 20, Zachary Chen, Jason Huang, Siwei Li, He Ni, and Jiangyuan Yu participated in a 1-hour practice at The Flushing Bay in preparation for the upcoming dragon boat race representing Great Neck on October 4th.
We began the session with three full-length race simulations to practice endurance and execution under realistic conditions. These runs tested both our stamina and our ability to maintain proper form throughout the race.
After the simulations, we focused on correcting our strokes. The team split into smaller groups, allowing us to receive more targeted feedback and adjust our technique with greater precision.
To finish the practice, we came back together and paddled with full energy, pushing ourselves in unison as we returned to the dock. The session strengthened our endurance, refined our technique, and reinforced teamwork, all of which will be crucial in our performance on October 4th.
