AYLUS Roslyn Provides Food to Local Families Through NOSH Delivers! Food Pantry (100th) on September 13th, 2025

On Saturday, September 13th, from 2:00-6:00 pm, the Roslyn Branch helped collect food for NOSH, a non-profit food pantry in Long Island founded to bring food to local families during the pandemic, at a Stop and Shop at 177 Forest Ave, Glen Cove, NY 11542.

We handed out “grocery lists” to shoppers to let them know what items we needed and collected non-perishable food items such as beans, pasta, rice, peanut butter, etc. The food we collected was delivered to NOSH where it will be distributed to local people in need. We met some very generous people who were very excited to give back to the community as they donated dozens of items to our cause. In total, we ended up with at least 50 boxes of food. It was difficult to be able to store all these food items but we got many Poland Spring boxes from a Stop and Shop employee, Courtney, which let us organize the food. It was important to be able to interact with shoppers and show gratitude towards those who donated. We learned about the importance of teamwork, organization, and communication skills during this event, and in the future, we hope that we can give more back to the community!
