AYLUS Basking Ridge members recently began a new program with Feeding Hands Food Shelter in Liberty Corner, bringing care, support, and a helping hand to every shopper. Volunteers greeted visitors, explained the food limits, and gently asked if they’d like to use the prayer room—making sure those who did could move safely and without worry.
Throughout the day, members handed out backpacks to those in need, offered corn and cable extenders, and kept track of the items distributed. They even helped shoppers load their cars, chatting and sharing smiles along the way. By the end of the session, carts were returned, items organized, and the space tidied—but the real impact was in the connections formed, the small acts of kindness, and the reassurance given to every person who came through the doors. It was a reminder that sometimes, helping someone means more than just giving—it means being present, patient, and truly caring.
