AYLUS Dix Hills Volunteers prepare Long Island Chinese School for new semester

On September 7th, between 12:00 and 4:00pm AYLUS volunteers went to the Long Island Chinese School to help prepare students for the new season. Students were instructed by staff to organize and unbox an assortment of books which would be used for learning. Complementary food and water were also available to volunteers for their effort.

To prepare for the beginning of classes, AYLUS volunteers rushed to different classrooms with books and papers in hand. Each student was to receive their standardized learning books, along with two notebooks for character writing. AYLUS volunteers also cataloged and tracked which classrooms were missing books. The organizational and teamwork skills AYLUS volunteers displayed demonstrates their hard work and care. Thanks to volunteers, the first day of Long Island Chinese School was a success.
