AYLUS Great Neck Branch Tutoring at Station Library 53rd (9/9/25)

On Tuesday, September 9, 2025, from 6:00 to 7:00 PM, a volunteer tutoring activity was held in the meeting room of GN Station Library. The volunteer team included Baiyu Chen, Linzi Yeung, Brian Zhang, Summer Lu, and Janice Zhang, and they provided targeted academic support to several young students—among them, a high school student with a high GPA and younger children ranging from elementary to seventh grade.

During the one-hour tutoring session, the volunteers divided their focus to meet different students’ needs. Baiyu Chen and Summer Lu worked together to help two seventh-grade girls, guiding them through lessons in U.S. history and science to strengthen their understanding of key concepts. Linzi Yeung focused on a primary school student, not only helping with math homework but also carefully checking each problem to ensure the student grasped the underlying methods. Meanwhile, Brian Zhang and Janice Zhang each took charge of supporting three younger boys, assisting them with all subjects in their homework to address any gaps in their learning.

This tutoring activity proved to be highly meaningful for both volunteers and students. The young learners received personalized help that boosted their academic confidence and clarified confusing topics, while the volunteers gained a sense of fulfillment from sharing their knowledge and supporting the children’s growth. Every participant left with valuable gains, making the evening a rewarding experience for all involved.
