On September 7, 2025, Sunday, Great Neck AYLUS participated in volunteer activities of an 8km long run race at Clinton G Martin park and the community area around it. Our job is blocking those intersections when riders are present, allow cars to pass when safe and make sure the drivers are aware that the race is in progress. Unfortunately, the weather is rainy so the runners and our volunteers have to wear rain coats or hold an umbrella. This has some impact on work, but we have been with the players through it all. Some of our team member’s clothes got wet and my shoes were soaked, because sometimes we have to go to the middle of the road to direct traffic. And it’s actually a meaningful experience because we can see competitors of all ages, I even met my middle school math teacher! And the same thing is they were all working hard and persevere to complete the race, we are seeing the passion of persisting from them. All in all, it’s a great experience for us, and everybody is working hard and participating well.
