On September 2nd, 2025, volunteer members of Aylus gathered at the Great Neck Station Library for their bi-weekly tutoring session. The evening was highly collaborative; the tutees and tutors worked together to complete an array of tasks related to mathematics, English, and science. For instance, members helped students understand the properties of functions and exponents. Through the use of models, including graphs and tables, students gained a deeper understanding of the topics. In addition, the younger tutees learned basic English vocabulary through games and real-life interactions with the volunteers. The simple approach of experiential learning emphasizes active engagement and promotes knowledge retention. Overall, the session was a major success thanks to the motivated volunteers and students.
