Newtown AYLUS Branch Volunteers at Local Park’s Adopt-a-Trail Program 8/30

On Saturday, August 30, 2025, Newtown AYLUS members helped support the local community by volunteering at Tyler State Park in Bucks County, PA. Tyler State Park contains over one thousand acres of park roads and trails along with a community theater, an art center, and more. Newtown AYLUS helped clean up the trails of this important park, helping make it more enjoyable for everyone.

Members were instructed on how to safely trim plants and how to identify invasive species that need to be removed. In the time spent, volunteers were able to clear most of the trail, making it safer and cleaner for everyone. Volunteers mainly helped remove invasive species that are quick to repopulate, supporting the ecosystem and ensuring that local species thrive by hindering the invasive species’ growth.

Overall, members were happy and dedicated to making the park a better place. The trail had been improved, and volunteers felt fulfilled in being able to support the local community.

Members who participated were Kylee Guo (event leader), Randall Zhang, Daniel Tang, Edward Soong, Zhiheng Wang, Derrick Zhang, and Samuel Zhang, all for 2 hours.
