Event 70: AYLUS Morris Branch Partners with The Connection for Moms Helping Moms: Books for Babies Initiative in August 2025

On August 31st at 3:00 PM, members of the AYLUS Morris Branch partnered with The Connection, a nonprofit, women-led community organization located in local area, to support the Moms Helping Moms: Books for Babies initiative. This event was dedicated to sparking a lifelong love of reading by ensuring babies and toddlers have access to age-appropriate books during their most formative years. AYLUS Morris members collected and donated over 100 books designed for children ages one to five, featuring engaging stories and colorful illustrations to encourage learning, imagination, and family bonding. After weeks of gathering contributions from local families and neighborhoods, the branch members personally delivered the books to The Connection on the afternoon of August 31st.

The Moms Helping Moms: Books for Babies event highlights the powerful impact of community-driven collaboration. By joining forces with The Connection—an organization committed to fostering wellness, education, and inclusivity—AYLUS Morris members were able to extend their reach and directly benefit young families in need. The Connection, widely respected as a women-led nonprofit hub in local area, offers a broad range of programs and services that uplift individuals of all ages and backgrounds. Together, this partnership not only provided tangible resources for children but also emphasized the importance of literacy as the foundation of lifelong success.

This event reflects the ongoing mission of the AYLUS Morris Branch: to inspire and engage youth in meaningful service. The Books for Babies initiative demonstrates how small yet thoughtful contributions—like a book placed into a child’s hands—can create a ripple effect of learning, growth, and opportunity throughout the community.
