#Hometown Sammamish Youth Action Group – Community Cleanup
Project (Event#3)

Lake Washington Branch

This May, we launched the Community Cleanup Project under the Hometown Sammamish Youth Action Group. As part of this initiative, we will organize a series of cleanup events in city parks, lakes, public spaces, and communities that need attention. We believe this project will contribute to reducing pollution, protecting wildlife, preserving the natural beauty of our surroundings, and fostering a greater sense of environmental responsibility.

On August 31, 2025, the AYLUS Lake Washington Branch organized its third community cleanup event in the Vintage and surrounding neighborhoods of Sammamish. From 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM, branch members Eric Huang, Joey Zhu, and Kevin Chen walked through the neighborhoods, park, and trail—collecting one and a half bags of garbage, sorting recyclables, and properly disposing of waste.

Vintage and nearby communities are popular areas where many families enjoy playing, walking and cycling. We hope this cleanup event contributes to a more pleasant and enjoyable environment for everyone in the neighborhood. Together, we strive to make our hometown a clean, vibrant, and beautiful place for all.
