On August 27 at 6:30 p.m., members of the AYLUS Morris Branch partnered with Helping Hands, a local nonprofit committed to supporting families in need, to deliver a successful Back-to-School Drive. Recognizing the importance of providing students with the right tools to start the school year confidently, the Morris Branch worked throughout the month to organize a collection of essential school supplies from local neighborhoods and community clubs.
The effort resulted in an impressive assortment of donations, including 5 sets of markers, 1 set of watercolors, over 1,000 pencils and crayons, bottles of school glue, notebooks, folders, and other classroom essentials. These supplies were carefully sorted and prepared by the volunteers before being dropped off at the Helping Hands distribution site. From there, they will be distributed to local children and families who may otherwise struggle to access basic educational materials.
For AYLUS Morris Branch members, this project was not only an opportunity to give back but also a chance to support young learners as they embark on a new academic year. The initiative underscored the group’s commitment to fostering equal educational opportunities and ensuring that no student feels left behind due to a lack of resources.
The Back-to-School Drive with Helping Hands is part of AYLUS Morris Branch’s ongoing mission to partner with community organizations and address real needs in the local area. Through service projects like this, members demonstrate leadership, teamwork, and compassion while making a tangible impact on their community. As these donated supplies reach students across the region, AYLUS Morris Branch and Helping Hands can be proud of the role they played in equipping children for success in the classroom.
