On August 19th from 6 pm to 7 pm, the Great Neck AYLUS Branch held a tutoring session at the Station Library. Emma taught addition, counting numbers, and writing letters to a student. Baiyu read picture books to the children. Brian and Linzi taught algebraic math concepts – including PEMDAS – to the children. Yucheng aided students in learning about infinite series and summation while Rebecca also assisted in teaching and associating with kids in English and Math. Volunteers used creative methods like visualization and working through questions with the students to help them comprehend the concept and improve engagement. During the tutoring session, all volunteers worried diligently and productively to ensure that all students benefited from the event. Both volunteers and students were able to learn and refresh themselves on concepts they once learned or just learned. The Great Neck AYLUS Branch remains committed to teaching kids in a fun and supportive environment.
