On Wednesday, August 13, 2025, members of the Newtown Branch of AYLUS dedicated their time from 11:45 AM to 4:00 PM volunteering at the FabLab Center (One Ivybrook Blvd Suite 190, Warminster, PA 18974, USA). FabLab is a STEAM learning center where children and youth of all ages are able to explore various technologies and skills related to science, engineering, art, and math.
Our two volunteers helped a group of around 35 students with multiple activities during their time there. The kids were split among two groups, one that would focus on Minecraft, and another group working on stop motion. Volunteers also completed tasks teachers requested, which included organizing supplies, charging devices such as laptops, ipads, 3D printer pens, and robots, and maintaining a clean materials place. Volunteers actively moved around the building, offering help wherever it was needed.
Overall the event was a major success with students being happy with what they built and the videos that they created, with the addition of the 2 volunteers assisting the kids with whatever trouble they had. Near the end of the camp, volunteers cleaned up, charging devices and organizing the space.
Members who participated were Daniel Tang (Event Leader) and Lucas Wu, each for 4 hours.
