AYLUS Basking Ridge members started a new program with Feeding Hands Food Shelter (Liberty corner). Our member joined the members from other branches and assisted by telling shoppers the limit of food they could get for each type of food, and asked if they would like to use the prayer room. If they did, members would push the grocery cart near the exit to make sure there wouldn’t be a traffic jam. Additionally, members had also helped give out backpacks to shoppers that had needed them, and had also given lots of corn to the shoppers and cable extenders. Then, members had helped mark down how many backpacks were taken, and assisted by loading up shoppers cars with what they had gotten that day. Finally members had returned the carts to the entrance of the food shelter. Today members assisted about 70 shoppers.
