On Tuesday, July 29, 2025, members of the Newtown Branch of AYLUS dedicated their time from 11:45 AM to 4:00 PM volunteering at the FabLab Center (One Ivybrook Blvd Suite 190, Warminster, PA 18974, USA). FabLab is a STEAM learning center where children and youth of all ages are able to explore various technologies and skills related to science, engineering, art, and math.
Three members helped a group of around 35 students with multiple activities during their time there, providing help and guidance. This included helping with 3D printing inTinkercad and with 3D printing pens, and answering any campers questions. In addition to assisting the students, volunteers also completed tasks teachers requested, which included organizing supplies, charging laptops, ipads, and 3D printer pens used by the students, and maintaining a clean materials place. Volunteers actively moved around the building, offering help wherever it was needed.
The event was very successful, with students being satisfied with their own creations and progress. At the end of the day, volunteers helped clean up the building by vacuuming, wiping down tables, and charging devices, making sure the room was neat and orderly before leaving.
Members who participated were Daniel Tang (Event Leader), Ryan He, and Moiz Kothawala, all for 4 hours.
