On Tuesday July 29th, Aylus high school volunteers gathered from 6:00 to 7:00PM at Great Neck Station Library to tutor and assist younger students with their studies. During this session, Benjamin Ko helped an incoming seventh grader with english grammar topics such as punctuation, with lessons such as verb tenses and active voice. Meanwhile, Ivy Li helped someone learn english, with vocabulary needed to fill in crossword puzzles, as well as nature vocabulary. She also helped another student learn how to multiply complex expressions using distributive property and PEMDAS. Baiyu Chen also helped a student with english topics, such as sentence structure and grammar. They also worked in a workbook for answering questions based on a passage. In conclusion, the tutoring session was efficient and benefitted many students with their studies.
