On Saturday, July 12, 2025, from 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM EST, members of the Newtown Branch of AYLUS (Alliance of Youth Leaders in the United States) volunteered at the Bucks County Free Library – Levittown Branch, contributing their time and effort to support the library’s ongoing mission to serve the community.
During this session, volunteers focused on organizing books throughout the library. This included reshelving returned materials and performing shelf reading to ensure that books were in the correct order and easily accessible to patrons. Maintaining a well-organized collection helps visitors navigate the shelves more efficiently, encourages independent learning, and promotes a more enjoyable experience for readers of all ages.
By handling these essential tasks, the volunteers helped reduce the workload of library staff and contributed to the smooth operation of the library. Their efforts support the library’s role as an important community resource that fosters literacy, exploration, and lifelong learning.
Representing the AYLUS Newtown Branch, David Soong and Edward Soong each contributed 2 hours of dedicated service.
