On July 12th, 2025, members of the Syosset chapter of AYLUS visited a group home in Levittown, New York, where they spent time with residents living with Cerebral Palsy. The volunteers worked hard to ensure everyone had a fun, engaging, and memorable experience through a series of creative and interactive activities. The visit began with an arts and crafts session where residents decorated colorful summer-themed cards and wooden ornaments. Volunteers provided all the materials and encouraged the residents to express themselves freely. Afterward, we made beaded bracelets using a wide variety of colors and shapes, which many participants exchanged as small gifts of friendship. Then we shifted to making cupcakes. Residents were able to help pour in and mix the batter with all sorts of different ingredients. The event was filled with laughter, creativity, and a strong sense of community. It was a meaningful experience for both the volunteers and the residents, and Syosset AYLUS hopes to return soon to continue spreading kindness and joy.
