
On Thursday July 3, Aylus high school volunteers gathered from 6:00 to 7:00PM at Great Neck Station Library to tutor and assist younger students with their studies. During this session, Janice Zhang helped an incoming seventh grader with math topics such as algebra, with lessons such as factoring quadratics and finding the area of a circle. Meanwhile, Ivy Li helped someone learn english, with vocabulary needed to order at a restaurant, as well as nature vocabulary to go to a barbecue. Benjamin Ko helped one girl with her penmanship. He also helped another girl with english work and finding the meaning of parts of passages and a crossword. Summer Lu helped a 6th grader with his assignments while teaching a 8th grader with algebra 1. In conclusion, the tutoring session was efficient and benefitted many students with their studies.
