On June 28th – 29th, 2025, AYLUS Chapel Hill Branch members handcrafted heart pillows and maked origami pieces for patients. For hours, our volunteers worked with dedication and compassion, meticulously crafting beautiful origami pieces and heart shaped pillow to be included in cancer care kits. Each creation was made with love, as everyone aimed to bring a moment of comfort and joy to those enduring the challenges of cancer.
We believe these thoughtful gifts will provide not only a visual reminder of kindness but also a source of hope and strength for the recipients. In a world that can often feel overwhelming, our hope is that these small tokens of support will make a meaningful impact, brightening their days and offering a sense of connection and comfort.
Volunteers who participated in this event were Justin Huang (2 hours), Alwin Liu (6 hours), Andrew Zhao (6 hours), Karen Lin (6 hours) and Grace Gao (6 hours).
