AYLUS Great Neck Branch volunteers for Great Neck Park District (38th) 6/29/25

On June 29th, 2025, from 12:30 to 2:30 PM, four volunteers helped level woodchips at Kings Point Park. A park staff member oversaw the labor, guided the volunteers to the working area in the woods, and provided them with tools. The volunteers present were Alivia You, Chloe Wang, Catherine Wang, and Brian Zhang. Together, they evened and spread out woodchips from two large mounds, resurfacing the coating of mulch on the trail. The tools used were rakes and pitchforks, which were used to flatten out and pick up woodchips, respectively. When the volunteers began to move further from the larger mounds, they created smaller mounds that consolidated their efforts. For the two hours, the volunteers carried out their task until their time was over.
