On July 29th, the Great Neck Branch of AYLUS took part in its third local Farmers Market to raise money for the community. Volunteers arrived at 9:30 a.m. to set up and began selling at 10:00 a.m., continuing until 2:00 p.m. They sold handmade items like crocheted crafts and bracelets, and ran fun stations such as face painting, fan-making, live crocheting, nail painting, and cashiering. All the money raised will go toward Adventures in Learning, an after-school program in Great Neck for low-income families, as well as other nonprofits. Volunteers got hands-on experience running a small business and promoting their products, all while giving back to the community.
