AYLUS Roslyn Volunteers at the Cerebral Palsy Association of Nassau County’s Group Home (46th) on June 21nd, 2025

On Saturday, June 21st, members of AYLUS Roslyn visited the CP Nassau residential home, volunteering on Saturday 6/21 from 2:30-4:30 pm.

We started off with a game of Jenga that lasted for twenty minutes. After that we moved on to a game of HEDBANZ. Each round was full of funny questions and guesses, keeping the residents entertained and full of joy. We kept playing, until everyone went at least once, and then we moved on to arts and crafts. This time, we had brought supplies to build “Summer in a Bottle.” We had cut out templates of jars, along with an array of stickers. After spending some time, each resident had their own “Summer in a Bottle.” We then played BINGO, and went for fullboards. The residents had a great time, playing BINGO, and also talking with the volunteers. Lastly, we colored some paddles, using templates, and created wonderful designs with the residents. Volunteering at CP Nassau continues to be a rewarding experience for us. It allows us to connect with individuals with disabilities, offering companionship and support while also encouraging patience, empathy, and teamwork.

We look forward to our next visit and another opportunity to bring smiles to the residents of CP Nassau!
