On June 19, 2025, from 11:45 a.m to 2:15 p.m, Newtown Branch of AYLUS members volunteered at FabLab LEGO Camp. The location is one Ivybrook Blvd. Ste 190, Warminster, PA. This camp is a joyful place that provides a fun and engaging environment for children to explore the world of robotics and LEGOs, combining creativity with hands-on learning. As volunteers, our responsibility is to keep this event running smoothly, moreover, to assist this group of imaginative and creative children in their fascinating activities.
One of the main tasks was to help the children with their project. Students would turn to the volunteers as they encountered problems. These could range from navigating an iPad, locating certain items, or simply sharing and presenting their finished work. Throughout the time, volunteers walked around the area and helped wherever needed. Besides assisting students, volunteers also support the instructors when asked. Specifically, assisted the teachers in organizing supplies, such as gathering and classifying colored markers and pencils, collecting the iPads used by the students, and keeping the material tables tidy. In addition to that, a major task for our volunteers this time was unboxing and preparing materials for the future activities. Volunteers opened, sorted, and arranged LEGO sets and other supplies, including placing items like gloves and toilet paper in designated spots, ensuring that everything was organized and ready to use.
Overall, this event left a positive impression on everyone involved. Students were proud of their work, and the volunteers played an essential role in creating a fun and productive learning environment. It was a meaningful experience, and I’m proud of the teamwork and positive atmosphere we were part of today.
