Murrieta AYLUS Volunteers at Habitat for Humanity Senior House Preservation #42– Yardwork (6/7/2025)

Reported by Daisy Chen
On June 7th, Aylus members went to a Habitat for Humanity yard clean up. They started on the front yard, plucking the weeds which had become embedded in the rocks and putting everything in trash bags or in tarps if it was too big. After the front yard had been cleaned up, they moved onto the backyard. There, the members split up into separate tasks : some worked on smaller weeds and wilted grass around the perimeters of the yard, others worked on larger weeds which required a shovel and cutters to properly remove. Moreover, the members also focused on trimming the trees and rose bushes the give the yard a polished look. Lastly, all scraps and weeds were carried away in bags or on taps which were safely transferred onto the truck to the dump.
