Syosset AYLUS Volunteers at Bellmore Cerebral Palsy Home 6/14/25

On Saturday, June 14th, Syosset AYLUS members went to the cerebral palsy home in Bellmore to pay the residents a visit. As usual, volunteers started off with activities such as coloring sheets that went in theme with summer as well as board games such as connect 4. Volunteers engaged in conversations with the residents, and also helped assist them with simple tasks if they were unable to do so. Continuing with the change in seasons, we also got to plant flowers—a fun hands on activity. In addition, today’s ‘food project’ was making Rice Krispy treats, where everyone got to help each in step from unwrapping the butter to pouring in the cereal. Everyone got to indulge in a nostalgic, sweet treat that brought back memories from their childhoods.
