On Saturday, June 15th, three competitive swimmers and volunteers from AYLUS Pearland – Yurong Qiu, Yushan Qiu, and Jordana Zhao taught swimming lessons to community kids. This is the 4th lesson in a 3-week-long series.
Yurong, Jordana, and Yushan helped Emma, Darren, Tyler, and Jasper as a group practice their kicking with a game of rock-paper-scissors. After the game, Yurong and Yushan worked with Darren, Tylor, and Emma on their breaststroke while Jordana helped Tyler improve on his freestyle. Yurong then taught Darren, Tyler, and Emma how to do Butterfly legs and arms. The last 10 minutes of class, they played another kicking game with the coaches.
This lesson was very efficient; everyone was either learning something new or improving their technique and skill. All the children had a lot of fun; they enjoyed being around one another and became comfortable with the coaches and the swimmers around them.
