On Saturday, June 7th, Syosset AYLUS members came to Long Island Cares, Huntington as an opportunity to give back to the community, and those who are less fortunate than us. Long Island Cares is an organization dedicated to opening food banks to help fight food insecurity all over Long Island. They donate over 14 million pounds of food annually, and AYLUS is honored to be a part of this impact. As this is their 45th year in service, Syosset members gathered together to hand out flyers starting from 1PM. Hundreds of flyers later, volunteers not only got to practice their soft skills, but were able to collect over 6 full boxes of different foods, hygiene, and baby products. Overall, it was an extremely successful day for Long Island cares despite the rainy weather.
