On June 1st, 2025, members of AYLUS gathered at King’s Point Park to participate in a community beautification and environmental preservation project. The goal of the event was to spread wood chips along the park’s trails. Equipped with rakes, the volunteers worked diligently for two hours, moving and distributing large piles of wood chips across key areas of the park. Spreading wood chips is a crucial form of maintenance for public green spaces. The mulch helps suppress weed growth and retain soil moisture. From an aesthetic standpoint, the fresh layer of wood chips gives the park a cleaner and more organized appearance; visitors can walk through a well-maintained environment.
By the end of the activity, the volunteers could see the direct impact of their work—trails looked refreshed and cared for. Through this project, AYLUS continued to uphold its mission of empowering youth to give back and make a difference in their communities. This activity contributed to creating a safer, cleaner, and more welcoming environment for all visitors. Their work ensures that the park remains a vibrant and sustainable space for the community to enjoy year-round.
