On May 31st, the AYLUS Morris Branch successfully organized a community donation initiative by setting up a collection site at a local tennis club. This effort aimed to gather essential summer items for individuals in need as part of their ongoing commitment to community service. Over the course of the collection period, volunteers from the branch engaged with tennis club members, encouraging donations of gently used and new items suitable for warm weather. Their efforts were met with generosity and enthusiasm, resulting in the collection of 15 baseball hats and 60 pieces of summer clothing, including T-shirts, shorts, and light jackets. These items were carefully sorted and packed by AYLUS members to ensure they were ready for immediate distribution.
In the afternoon of May 31st, the donations were delivered to the Help4All distributor house, a trusted community partner that works closely with local shelters and organizations supporting families and individuals experiencing hardship. Volunteers from the AYLUS Morris Branch coordinated the drop-off, ensuring all items were accounted for and ready to be included in Help4All’s next round of shelter distributions. The clothing and accessories will be distributed to shelters across the region, where they will provide comfort and relief to those facing difficult circumstances during the summer months.
This initiative highlights AYLUS Morris Branch’s ongoing dedication to service and collaboration. By choosing a local tennis club as their collection site, they not only raised awareness among active community members but also made it easy for donors to participate. The branch continues to look for creative and impactful ways to serve, and this summer donation drive stands as another meaningful example of youth leadership making a difference. Through efforts like this, the Morris Branch is fostering a spirit of kindness, action, and connection in their community.
