In response to the growing crisis caused by the rising cost of infant formula, members of the AYLUS Morris Branch organized a meaningful community service project to support local families in need. With formula prices having increased significantly in recent years, many mothers are struggling to afford the basic nutrition their babies depend on. Motivated by compassion and a strong sense of responsibility, AYLUS Morris Branch members launched a formula collection drive throughout their neighborhoods.
Over the course of several days, members reached out to friends, neighbors, and community members, successfully collecting an impressive 35 pounds of infant formula. They carefully sorted and packed the donations to ensure everything was organized and ready for distribution. On the afternoon of May 21st, the team delivered the boxes to Helping Hands, a trusted local nonprofit organization that supports underserved families with essential goods and services.
This initiative not only helped relieve the burden for struggling mothers but also raised awareness about the ongoing challenges many face in providing for their children. Through their efforts, AYLUS members demonstrated how youth can be a powerful force for good—responding to real-world problems with action, empathy, and teamwork.
The Morris Branch continues to stand by its mission of giving back to the community through meaningful, hands-on service. By addressing a critical need with compassion and initiative, these young volunteers are making a tangible difference in the lives of others. The team hopes this effort will inspire more people to step forward and support local families, especially during times of economic hardship. As the price of essentials continues to climb, the work of organizations like AYLUS and Helping Hands is more important than ever.
