May 10th 2025 morning, members of the AYLUS Morris Branch came together in a meaningful act of service by partnering with Helping Hands to donate Mother’s Day gifts to women in need throughout the community. In preparation for the holiday, the students organized a collection drive and gathered thoughtful items such as women’s toiletries, perfumes, purses, and other personal care essentials. These gifts were meant to bring joy and dignity to local mothers who might otherwise go without recognition on this special day.
Over the course of several days, AYLUS members collected donations from peers, neighbors, and friends, encouraging the community to support the cause. Each item was carefully sorted and packaged, with the students ensuring everything was clean, gently used or new, and ready for gifting. Their dedication to quality and care reflected their genuine desire to make a difference.
Early that Friday morning, the volunteers delivered the items to the Helping Hands collection site. Working side-by-side with the organization’s staff, they helped unload and organize the gifts for distribution. The experience was deeply rewarding and gave the students a firsthand look at how even small contributions can have a big impact.
This effort is one of many ways the AYLUS Morris Branch empowers youth to give back. Through collaboration, empathy, and action, these young leaders not only helped brighten Mother’s Day for dozens of women but also strengthened the spirit of community and compassion.
