On May 10th, members of the Syosset AYLUS organization volunteered at Long Island Native Plant Initiative, where we assisted with various tasks to support the greenhouse. Members first assisted with supporting the plants by adding fundamental nutrients and supplies to the variety of plants, and also removed the unnecessary weeds growing inside the plant pots. Some members then continued to remove the wilted leaves inside the pots, and some were clearing the weeds on the grounds of the greenhouse. We also assisted with moving crates to the places that Pam requested. Coming towards the end of our time there, we assisted with the clean up, sweeping the dirt, leaves, and other debris up. Overall, all attending members of the AYLUS organization showed to be a great help and provided ample support to the staff of the LINPI.
