On Sunday, May 4, from 1:30 to 4:40pm, volunteers from the AYLUS Dix Hills branch served as teacher’s assistants at the Long Island Chinese School. They played a key role in administering and grading a speaking test, helping students with pronunciation and tone by pointing to specific words and evaluating their responses. In addition, volunteers helped print and distribute assignments, and assisted with the operation of the printer and photocopier. By handling both the grading and supervision of the test, the volunteers significantly lightened the teacher’s workload, allowing them to rest and observe the class with minimal interruption.
