Community Beading Workshop 4/12

Continuing the bracelet-making initiative, the second April session maintained the focus on individualized craftsmanship. Each volunteer designed and completed their own bracelet using stone beads, with each piece reflecting a unique color scheme and pattern. The volunteers did not work collaboratively on shared items but rather contributed independently under the same creative framework.

Alex Tianlu Zhou led by example, selecting cool-tone stones such as turquoise, sky blue, and smoky quartz to form harmonious, ocean-inspired bracelets. Jenny Wang opted for softer pastels like rose quartz and ivory, while Daniel Wang focused on bolder contrasts, incorporating deep purple and jet-black beads.

Participants were encouraged to follow the volunteers’ example, exploring their own aesthetics without strict templates. The variety of color choices on display sparked rich discussions about design preferences and cultural symbolism behind different stones.
