Riverside County AYLUS Members Craft Toys for Local Animal Shelters During the Month of April 2025

During the month of April, several members worked on handmade toys for various local animal shelters, a project they have completed multiple times in the past. They started by sourcing the materials such as old t-shirts as well as the supplies needed to make them.

They recycled old shirts and clothes and purchased stuffing as well as catnip for the cat toys. They then cut the fabric accordingly and worked on the different toys to help ease the animals’ boredom. With many shelters issuing urgent appeals for fostering and adoption due to the extended time animals are spending in shelters, RCA members aimed to provide support. At the same time, the members contributed to the environment by repurposing materials that might otherwise end up in landfills.
