On Sunday April 27th The Roslyn AYLUS TA’s helped out at the Chinese Cultural Association of Long Island schools. Our group helped from 1:30 to 5 pm at Great Neck South High School. The TA’s helped with many activities at school.
As being TA’s we helped the teachers and students to help ensure the children’s learning of the Chinese culture. In our tasks we help by guiding students to the restroom helping with breaks and managing snack purchases. When class begins the TA’s would help with attendance and collecting homework, as well as preparing for today’s classwork. Additionally, we helped to create the perfect class environment for students to learn and get engaged in the Chinese knowledge and culture. When Students would tend to struggle we would help them by patiently guiding through the lesson.
From 4 to 5 pm, during the parent conference we collaborated with the teacher to help guide their parents with the teacher so that the students could learn the best way possible.
Generally, We all had a productive and well time spent assisting the Chinese school. The positive impact to the students and the teachers made us grateful to help the Chinese School. We also aim to work closely towards improving student’s learning and assisting teacher’s workload.
