As spring arrives and before the migratory birds reach their destination, we once again set up rope fencing and signage at Fisherman Beach in Caumsett State Park to protect their habitat. This effort ensures that the birds can safely rest and breed during their journey while also raising public awareness of environmental conservation. We installed around 2 miles of string fencing and removed over 100 pounds of garbage and debris from the beach. Additionally, our beach cleanup initiative helps reduce the threat of plastic and other pollutants to the ecosystem, preserving marine life and contributing to the long-term sustainability of the natural environment.
Gratitude to the following 10 volunteers, totaling 30.5 volunteer hours collectively.
